The Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 (Commencement No. 2) Regulations 2015

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 52(3) and (4) of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 20151, makes the following Regulations:

Citation and interpretation1

These Regulations may be cited as the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 (Commencement No. 2) Regulations 2015.

In these Regulations “the Act” means the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015.

Appointed Day2

Section 26 (general duty on specified authorities) of the Act comes into force on 18th September 2015 in respect of all specified authorities within the meaning of that section to which section 31 (freedom of expression in universities etc) of the Act is expressed to apply.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations specify the commencement date for section 26 (general duty on specified authorities) of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 (c. 6) (“the Act”) insofar as that duty is expressed to apply to those specified authorities to whom section 31 (freedom of expression in universities etc) of the Act is expressed to apply (that is, proprietors or governing bodies of certain further and higher education institutions).
