Coming into force
The Secretary of State is a Minister designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19721 (“the 1972 Act”) in relation to measures relating to the prevention and limitation of the effects of accidents involving dangerous substances2.
The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 15(1) of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 19743 (“the 1974 Act”) and section 2(2) of the 1972 Act.

These Regulations may be cited as the Control of Major Accident Hazards (Amendment) Regulations 2015 and come into force on 13th July 2015.

Amendment of the Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations 20152
In the Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations 20156, in regulation 2(1), in the definition of “local authority”, for paragraph (b)(v) substitute—
v
an area in Scotland, the council for the local government area;
