cited as the Family Court (Composition and Distribution of Business) Rules 2014 and come into force on 22nd April 2014.</Text></P1para></P1></P1group><P1group RestrictExtent="E+W" id="article-2-1"><Pnumber>1</Pnumber><P2para><Text>In these Rules—</Text><UnorderedList Decoration="none" Class="Definition"><ListItem><Para><Text>“<Term id="term-the-1991-act">the 1991 Act</Term>” means the Child Support Act 1991 <CommentaryRef Ref="c22070861"/>;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem><Para><Text>“<Term id="term-appeal">appeal</Term>” includes an application seeking permission to appeal and an application in the course of the appeal proceedings;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem><Para><Text><CommentaryRef Ref="key-6609cf2830251d8bed3c0ecbfd2bc5de"/>...</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem><Para><Text>“authorised”, except in the context of references to an authorised court officer, means authorised by the President of the Family Division or nominated by or on behalf of the Lord Chief Justice to conduct particular business in the family court, in accordance with Part 3;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem><Para><Text>“<Term id="term-authorised-court-officer">authorised court officer</Term>” has the meaning assigned to it by rule 44.1 of the Civil Procedure Rules 1998 <CommentaryRef Ref="c22070881"/> as applied to family proceedings by rule 28.2(1) of the Family Procedure Rules 2010 <CommentaryRef Ref="c22070891"/>;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem><Para><Text>“<Term id="term-costs-judge">costs judge</Term>” means—</Text></Para><OrderedList Type="alpha" Decoration="parens"><ListItem NumberOverride="a"><Para><Text>the Chief Taxing Master;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem NumberOverride="b"><Para><Text>a taxing master of the Senior Courts; or</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem NumberOverride="c"><Para><Text>a person appointed to act as deputy for the person holding office referred to in paragraph (b) or to act as a temporary additional officer for any such office;</Text></Para></ListItem></OrderedList></ListItem><ListItem><Para><Text>“<Term id="term-financial-remedy">financial remedy</Term>” has the meaning assigned to it by rule 2.3 of the Family Procedure Rules 2010;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem><Para><Text>“<Term id="term-judge-of-circuit-judge-level">judge of circuit judge level</Term>” means—</Text></Para><OrderedList Type="alpha" Decoration="parens"><ListItem NumberOverride="a"><Para><Text>a circuit judge who, where applicable, is authorised;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem NumberOverride="b"><Para><Text>a Recorder who, where applicable, is authorised;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem NumberOverride="c"><Para><Text>any other judge of the family court authorised to sit as a judge of circuit judge level in the family court;</Text></Para></ListItem></OrderedList></ListItem><ListItem><Para><Text>“<Term id="term-judge-of-district-judge-level">judge of district judge level</Term>” means—</Text></Para><OrderedList Type="alpha" Decoration="parens"><ListItem NumberOverride="a"><Para><Text>the Senior District Judge of the Family Division;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem NumberOverride="b"><Para><Text>a district judge of the Principal Registry of the Family Division;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem NumberOverride="c"><Para><Text>a person appointed to act as deputy for the person holding office referred to in paragraph (b) or to act as a temporary additional officer for any such office;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem NumberOverride="d"><Para><Text>a district judge who, where applicable, is authorised;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem NumberOverride="e"><Para><Text>a deputy district judge appointed under section 102 of the Senior Courts Act 1981 <CommentaryRef Ref="c22070901"/> or section 8 of the County Courts Act 1984 <CommentaryRef Ref="c22070911"/> who, where applicable, is authorised;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem NumberOverride="f"><Para><Text>an authorised District Judge (Magistrates' Courts);</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem NumberOverride="g"><Para><Text>any other judge of the family court authorised to sit as a judge of district judge level in the family court.</Text></Para></ListItem></OrderedList></ListItem><ListItem><Para><Text>“<Term id="term-judge-of-high-court-judge-level">judge of High Court judge level</Term>” means—</Text></Para><OrderedList Type="alpha" Decoration="parens"><ListItem NumberOverride="a"><Para><Text>a deputy judge of the High Court;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem NumberOverride="b"><Para><Text>a puisne judge of the High Court;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem NumberOverride="c"><Para><Text>a person who has been a judge of the Court of Appeal or a puisne judge of the High Court who may act as a judge of the family court by virtue of section 9 of the Senior Courts Act 1981 <CommentaryRef Ref="c22070921"/>;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem NumberOverride="d"><Para><Text>the Senior President of Tribunals;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem NumberOverride="e"><Para><Text>the Chancellor of the High Court;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem NumberOverride="f"><Para><Text>an ordinary judge of the Court of Appeal (including the vice-president, if any, of either division of that court);</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem NumberOverride="g"><Para><Text>the President of the Queen's Bench id="article-17"><Pnumber>17</Pnumber><P1para><P2 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2014/840/article/17/1" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/uksi/2014/840/article/17/1" id="article-17-1"><Pnumber>1</Pnumber><P2para><Text>Subject to paragraphs (3) to (5), an application made within existing proceedings in the family court shall be allocated to the level of judge who is dealing with the existing proceedings to which the application relates.</Text></P2para></P2><P2 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2014/840/article/17/2" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/uksi/2014/840/article/17/4" id="article-17-4"><Pnumber>4</Pnumber><P2para><Text>Where the effect of Schedule 2 is that an application for a particular remedy may not be granted by the level of judge referred to in paragraph (1) or (2), then that application shall be allocated to a level of judge who is able to grant that remedy.</Text></P2para></P2><P2 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2014/840/article/17/5" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/uksi/2014/840/article/17/5" id="article-17-5"><Pnumber>5</Pnumber><P2para><Text>Any power of the family court to make an order for committal in respect of a breach of a judgment, order or undertaking to do or abstain from doing an act may only be made by a judge of the same level as, or of a higher level than, the judge who make the judgment or order, or who accepted the undertaking, as the case may be.</Text></P2para></P2></P1para></P1></P1group><P1group RestrictStartDate="2014-04-22"><Title>Allocation: costs</Title><P1 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2014/840/article/18"
