The Secretary of State, being the appropriate national authority in relation to England, makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 3(5), 8(1), 11(5) and (6), 14, 17(3), 20, 21, 24(1) to (2A), (3) and (6) to (9) and 59(1) of, and paragraph 1 of Schedule 1, paragraphs 2 to 10 of Schedule 2, and paragraphs 2, 4, 5 and 8(3) of Schedule 3 to, the Commons Act 2006(1).

2006 c. 26: “appropriate national authority” and “regulations” are defined in section 61(1); section 24(2)(d) was repealed by section 17(a) of the Growth and Infrastructure Act 2013 (c. 27), and section 24(2A) and (2B) inserted by section 17(b) of the same Act; section 24(9) was amended by section 11 of the Church of England (Miscellaneous Provisions) Measure 2010 (2010 No.1); paragraph 1(1)(c) and (2) of Schedule 1 was amended by S.I. 2013/755.
