This Order revokes and replaces with amendments the Smoke Control Areas (Exempted Fireplaces) (England) Order 2012 (S.I. 2012/2282).
It exempts the fireplaces listed in the Schedule from the provisions of section 20 of the Clean Air Act 1993 (prohibition of smoke emissions in smoke control areas), subject to the conditions set out in the Schedule. Several additional fireplaces have been exempted.
A full impact assessment has not been produced as no impact on the private, voluntary or public sectors is foreseen.
