This Order gives effect in specified Overseas Territories to sanctions in respect of the Republic of Guinea adopted by the European Union in Council Decision 2010/638/CFSP, as amended.
The main provisions of the sanctions in respect of the Republic of Guinea as reflected in this Order are: a prohibition in respect of the sale or supply to Guinea of arms and related materiel, and equipment which might be used for internal repression; a prohibition on the supply of technical assistance, training, financial and other specified forms of assistance; a freezing of funds and economic resources owned or controlled by persons or entities identified as responsible for violent repression in the Republic of Guinea on 28th September 2009; and a prohibition on making funds and economic resources available to such designated persons or entities.
