The Thurrock Development Corporation (Dissolution) Order 2012

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 166 of the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 19801.

In accordance with section 166(2) of that Act the Secretary of State has consulted Thurrock Borough Council (being the local authority in whose area the relevant urban development area is situated).

Citation and commencement1.

This Order may be cited as the Thurrock Development Corporation (Dissolution) Order 2012 and shall come into force on 3rd April 2012.

Dissolution of the Corporation2.

The Thurrock Development Corporation shall be dissolved on 31st October 2012.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)

By virtue of section 166(3) of the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980, on the coming into force of this Order the Thurrock Development Corporation will cease to act except for the purpose of preparing its final accounts and report and winding up its affairs. The corporation will be dissolved on 31st October 2012.
