Coming into force
The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 41 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 19991.
Citation and commencement1.
(1)
This Order may be cited as the Immigration (Passenger Transit Visa) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 2012.
(2)
This Order comes into force on 3rd April 2012.
Amendments to the Immigration (Passenger Transit Visa) Order 20032.
(1)
The Immigration (Passenger Transit Visa) Order 20032 is amended as follows.

In Schedule 13—
(a)
after “Ecuador” insert “Egypt”;
(b)
after “Liberia” insert “Libya”; and
(c)
after “Swaziland” insert “Syria”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order is made under section 41 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999. It amends the Immigration (Passenger Transit Visa) Order 2003 (the “2003 Order”). The 2003 Order requires certain passengers to hold a transit visa to pass through the United Kingdom without entering whilst transiting to another country or territory.
Article 2 of this Order requires nationals and citizens of Egypt, Libya and Syria to hold a transit visa if they want to transit the United Kingdom.
