Citation and commencement1.
These Regulations may be cited as the Jobseeker’s Allowance (Members of the Forces) (Northern Ireland) (Amendment) Regulations 2012 and shall come into force on 5th November 2012.

In regulation 7 (extension of time for performing certain acts)—
(a)
in paragraph (1) omit “Subject to paragraph (2),”; and
(b)
omit paragraph (2).

These Regulations amend the Jobseeker’s Allowance (Members of the Forces) (Northern Ireland) Regulations 1997.
Regulation 2(2) replaces a reference to a provision in the Social Security (Contributions) Regulations 1979 (which have been revoked) with a reference to a provision in the Social Security (Contributions) Regulations 2001.
Regulation 2(3) removes a provision which disentitles a person from receiving a jobseeker’s allowance (except in certain circumstances) in respect of any day on which that person is a serving member of the armed forces.
Regulation 2(4) makes an amendment that is consequential upon the amendment made by regulation 2(3).
