The Education (School Government) (Terms of Reference) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2012

The Secretary of State for Education makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 21(3) of the Education Act 20021.

Citation and commencement1.

These Regulations may be cited as the Education (School Government) (Terms of Reference) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2012 and come into force on 1st September 2012.

Amendment to the Education (School Government) (Terms of Reference) (England) Regulations 20002.

In the Education (School Government) (Terms of Reference) (England) Regulations 20002 omit regulation 8 (school curriculum policy).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

Regulation 2 of these Regulations omits regulation 8 of the Education (School Government) (Terms of Reference) (England) Regulations 2000 (“the 2000 Regulations”), so that head teachers are no longer required to formulate a policy for the secular curriculum of their school for adoption by the governing body.

An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on businesses or civil society organisations. The impact on the public sector is minimal.
