Coming into force

The Secretary of State for Health, considering it to be appropriate in the interests of the health service, makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 65B(1) and (3) and 272(7) of the National Health Service Act 20061.

The Secretary of State for Health makes this Order following the completion of the consultation required under section 65B(4) of the National Health Service Act 2006.

Citation, commencement and interpretation1

This Order may be cited as the South London Healthcare National Health Service Trust (Appointment of Trust Special Administrator) Order 2012 and comes into force on 16th July 2012.

In this Order, “the trust” means the South London Healthcare National Health Service Trust2.

Appointment of a trust special administrator2

A trust special administrator is authorised to be appointed to exercise the functions of the chairman and directors of the trust.

The appointment of the trust special administrator appointed to the trust pursuant to paragraph (1) takes effect on 16th July 2012.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order authorises the appointment of a trust special administrator to exercise the functions of the chairman and directors of the South London Healthcare National Health Service Trust. It also makes provision for the date on which the appointment of the trust special administrator is to take effect. The Secretary of State will appoint a person as the trust special administrator with effect from 16th July 2012 and will publish the name of the person appointed.
