As well as jurisdiction over appeals from decisions of traffic commissioners, jurisdiction has been conferred on the Upper Tribunal to hear appeals under the Goods Vehicles (Licensing of Operators) Act (Northern Ireland) 2010 (2010 c.2 (N.I.)) from decisions of the Department of the Environment in Northern Ireland. The amended Order describes all such appeals as road transport cases. 2012 No. 1673 Tribunals And Inquiries The First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal (Chambers) (Amendment) Order 2012 Made 26th June 2012 Laid before Parliament 29th June 2012 Coming into force 20th July 2012 The Lord Chancellor, with the concurrence of the Senior President of Tribunals, makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 7(9) of the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007. Citation and commencement 1 This Order may be cited as the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal (Chambers) (Amendment) Order 2012 and comes into force on 20th July 2012. Amendment to the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal (Chambers) Order 2010 2 The First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal (Chambers) Order 2010 is amended as follows. 3 In article 10(a) (appellate functions of the Administrative Appeals Chamber of the Upper Tribunal), for sub-paragraph (viii) substitute— viii against a decision in a road transport case; .
