This Order changes the constitution and functions of the National Patient Safety Agency (“the Agency”) established by article 2 (establishment of the Agency) of the National Patient Safety Agency (Establishment and Constitution) Order 2001, S.I. 2001/1743 (“the Order”).
Article 2(2) removes redundant definitions from article 1 of the Order (citation, commencement, extent and interpretation).
Article 2(3) removes existing functions of the Agency from article 3 of the Order (functions of the Agency) and provides that its functions are to be functions in connection with the abolition of the Agency.
Article 2(4) makes new provision for the constitution of the Agency in article 4 of the Order (constitution of the Agency).
The remaining articles of the Order, other than article 2 (establishment of the Agency), are omitted by article 2(5).
A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
