Revocation3.
Paragraph 4(5) of Schedule 1 to the Films Act 1985 provides that Her Majesty may by Order in Council provide for films to be treated as British films for the purposes of that schedule if they are made in accordance with the terms of any agreement between Her Majesty’s Government in the United Kingdom and any other government, international organisation or authority. This Order amends the Films Co-Production Agreements Order 1985 (“the principal Order”) so that, in addition to agreements between the Government of the United Kingdom and the Governments of other countries, the principal Order refers to agreements between the Government of the United Kingdom and international organisations or authorities.
This Order also extends the list of agreements scheduled to the principal Order to include an agreement with Israel (Cm. 7994) and an agreement with the Palestine Liberation Organisation for the benefit of the Palestinian Authority (Cm. 7995), both of 3rd November 2010. The agreements with Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organisation for the benefit of the Palestinian Authority were laid before Parliament on 22nd December 2010 and are available from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website: www.fco.gov.uk.
This Order also revokes a previous Order which amended the Schedule to the principal Order and has now been superseded.
