Where a toy is placed on the market before 20th July 2013, the particular safety requirements in respect of chemical properties are those in paragraph 3 of Part II of Annex II to Council Directive 88/378/EEC on the approximation of the laws of the Member States concerning the safety of toys M1, and not those in Part III of Annex II to the Directive.]
