The Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (Commencement No. 6) Order 2011

Made12th April 2011

The Secretary of State makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 182(5) of the Coroners and Justice Act 20091.

In accordance with section 182(7) of that Act2, the Secretary of State has consulted the Department of Justice.

Citation1.

This Order may be cited as the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (Commencement No. 6) Order 2011.

Commencement2.

Sections 75(2)(c), 77(1)(c) and 81(3) of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (anonymity in investigations conducted by the Serious Organised Crime Agency)3 shall come into force in Northern Ireland on 2nd May 2011.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force sections 75(2)(c), 77(1)(c) and 81(3) of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 in Northern Ireland on 2nd May 2011. These provisions relate to anonymity of persons in certain investigations conducted by the Serious Organised Crime Agency.
