By the Lords of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council

The General Medical Council have made the General Medical Council (Registration Appeal Panels Procedure) Rules 2010, as set out in the Schedule to this Order, in exercise of powers conferred by sections 29F(2) and 34B(1) of, and paragraphs 2A(5) and 3(3) of Schedule 3A and paragraph 3(1) of Schedule 3B to, the Medical Act 19831.

In accordance with paragraph 3(8) of Schedule 3B to that Act, the General Medical Council has consulted such bodies of persons representing medical practitioners and such medical practitioners as appeared to it requisite to be consulted.

By virtue of paragraphs 2A(6) and 3(4) of Schedule 3A and paragraph 3(5) of Schedule 3B to that Act, such Rules shall not come into force until approved by order of the Privy Council:

Their Lordships, having taken these Rules into consideration, are pleased to, and do, approve them.

This Order may be cited as the General Medical Council (Registration Appeals Panels Procedure) Rules Order of Council 2010, and come into force on 1st April 2010.
