Cancellation of elections to, and transitional measures relating to, the Council of the SocietyI119

Elections which would have been held by virtue of regulations under article 8 of the Charter, are not to be held in respect of the vacancies that would have arisen in respect of the members of the Council of the Society who were due to vacate office at the end of 20 May 2010.

The members of the Council of the Society referred to in sub-paragraph (1) are to remain in office until the end of —
a
the day before the day on which the first order under article 4(2) comes into force; or
b
31 May 2011,
whichever first occurs.

In sub-paragraph (1), “the Charter” means the Charter granted to the Society on 7 December 2004 as amended from time to time.
