The Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 137, 145 and 210(7) of the Education Act 2002(1), makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Further Education (Principals’ Qualifications) (England) (Revocation) Regulations 2010 and shall come into force on 1st November 2010.
2. The Further Education (Principals’ Qualifications) (England) Regulations 2007(2), the Further Education (Principals’ Qualifications) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2009(3), and the Further Education (Principals’ Qualifications) (England) (Amendment) (No 2) Regulations 2009(4) are revoked.

These Regulations revoke the Further Education (Principals’ Qualifications) (England) Regulations 2007 (“the 2007 Regulations”), the Further Education (Principals’ Qualifications) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2009, and the Further Education (Principals’ Qualifications) (England) (Amendment) (No 2) Regulations 2009. The 2007 Regulations, as amended, specified the qualifications that persons serving as principals to further education institutions were required to hold.
A full impact assessment has not been prepared for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen. The impact on the public sector is minimal.
2002 c..32; Sections 137(2A) and 137(3) were inserted by the Further Education and Training Act 2007 (c.25), section 23; Sections 145(1)(c) and 145(3) were amended by the Education Act 2005 (c.18), section 98 and Schedule 14, paragraph 24; Section 210(7) was amended by the Learner Travel (Wales) Measure 2008, sections 21(1) and (3)(c).
