The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 4(1) of the Mortgage Repossessions (Protection of Tenants etc) Act 2010(1):

Citation

1.  This Order may be cited as the Mortgage Repossessions (Protection of Tenants etc) Act 2010 (Commencement) Order 2010.

Commencement

2.  The Mortgage Repossessions (Protection of Tenants etc) Act 2010 (apart from section 4) comes into force—

(a)for the purpose of enabling the Secretary of State to make regulations under section 2, on the day after the day on which this Order is made; and

(b)on 1st October 2010 for all other purposes.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force the Mortgage Repossessions (Protection of Tenants etc) Act 2010. The Act (apart from section 4, which came into force on Royal Assent) is brought into force on the day after the day on which the Order is made for the purpose of enabling the Secretary of State to make regulations under section 2. The remainder of the Act is brought into force for all purposes on 1st October 2010.
