SCHEDULEConsequential amendments in relation to public health protection

Public Health (Aircraft) Regulations 1979

1.  In the Public Health (Aircraft) Regulations 1979(1), in regulation 2(1) (interpretation), omit the definition of “local authority”.

Public Health (Ships) Regulations 1979

2.  In the Public Health (Ships) Regulations 1979(2), in regulation 2(1) (interpretation), in sub-paragraph (b) of the definition of “local authority”—

(a)at the end of paragraph (iii), omit “or”; and

(b)for paragraph (iv), substitute the following paragraphs—

(iv)the Common Council of the City of London,

(v)the Sub-Treasurer of the Inner Temple and the Under Treasurer of the Middle Temple, or

(vi)the Council of the Isles of Scilly;.

Public Health (International Trains) Regulations 1994

3.  In the Public Health (International Trains) Regulations 1994(3), in regulation 2(1) (interpretation), omit the definition of “viral haemorrhagic fever”.

Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006

4.  In the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006(4), in regulation 21(7) (decisions taken on public policy, public security and public health grounds), in sub-paragraph (a), for “to which section 38 of the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 applies (detention in hospital of a person with a notifiable disease)” substitute “listed in Schedule 1 to the Health Protection (Notification) Regulations 2010(5)”.
