This Order appoints 30th April 2010 as the day on which certain provisions of the Medical Profession (Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 2008 (“the 2008 Order”) are to come into force. These provisions amend the Medical Act 1983 and relate to the disclosure of information obtained by a licensing authority about a medical practitioner during a revalidation pilot scheme, and the use of such information in investigation proceedings. Paragraph 13 of Schedule 1, Part 2 of the 2008 Order inserts section 29EA into the Medical Act 1983; and paragraph 17 of that Part amends section 35C of the Act.
