The Animals (Divisional Veterinary Managers) Regulations 2009

Coming into force

The Secretary of State is designated1 for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19722 in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community and in exercise of the powers conferred by that section, makes the following Regulations.

Citation, commencement and application1

These Regulations may be cited as the Animals (Divisional Veterinary Managers) Regulations 2009; they apply in England and come into force on 1st November 2009.

Amendments to the Products of Animal Origin (Import and Export) Regulations 19962

The Products of Animal Origin (Import and Export) Regulations 19963 are amended in accordance with this regulation.

In regulation 1(2) delete the definition of “Divisional Veterinary Manager”.

In regulations 13(5) and (6) and 16(8), for the words “the appropriate Divisional Veterinary Manager”, in each place that they occur, substitute “the Secretary of State”.

Amendment to the Foot-and-Mouth Disease (Control of Vaccination) (England) Regulations 20063

The Foot-and-Mouth Disease (Control of Vaccination) (England) Regulations 20064 are amended in accordance with this regulation.

In regulation 2(1) delete the definition of “Divisional Veterinary Manager”.

In regulations 21(4) and 23(1) for the words “Divisional Veterinary Manager” substitute the words “Secretary of State”.

Amendment to the Avian Influenza (Preventive Measures) (England) Regulations 20064

In regulation 13 of the Avian Influenza (Preventive Measures) (England) Regulations 20065, for “the Divisional Veterinary Manager appointed by the Secretary of State for the area in which the bird is located” substitute “the Secretary of State”.

Amendment to the Avian Influenza (Vaccination) (England) Regulations 20065

In regulation 11 of the Avian Influenza (Vaccination) (England) Regulations 20066, for “Divisional Veterinary Manager appointed by the Secretary of State for the area in which that bird is located” substitute “Secretary of State”.

Amendment to the Bluetongue Regulations 20086

The Bluetongue Regulations 20087 are amended in accordance with this regulation.

Regulation 8(3) is revoked.

In regulations 8(1)(a) and (2) and 11(b) for the words “Divisional Veterinary Manager” substitute the words “Secretary of State”.
