Commencement of the Charities Act 2006

2.—(1) The day appointed for the commencement of the provisions of the Charities Act 2006 (“the 2006 Act”) specified in paragraph (2) is 30th September 2009.

(2) The provisions of the 2006 Act are—

(a) paragraph 143(3)(c) of Schedule 8 to that Act;

(b) the entry in Schedule 9 to that Act relating to section 46(8) of the 1993 Act(1); and

(c) in so far as it relates to the provisions of the 2006 Act specified in sub-paragraphs (a) and (b), section 75(1) and (2) of that Act.

Section 78 of the Charities Act 2006 defines “the 1993 Act” as meaning the Charities Act 1993 (c.10).
