The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 21 of the Clean Air Act 19931.
The Secretary of State is satisfied that the fireplaces exempted by this Order can be used for burning fuel other than authorised fuels2 without producing any smoke or a substantial quantity of smoke.
