The Merchant Shipping (Marine Equipment) (Amendment) Regulations 2009

The Secretary of State for Transport is a Minister designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19721 in relation to measures relating to maritime transport2.

He makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of that Act and sections 85 and 86 of the Merchant Shipping Act 19953.

He has consulted the persons referred to in section 86(4) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995 in so far as these Regulations are made in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 85 and 86 of that Act.
