Penalties21
1
A person guilty of an offence under article 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 or 16 is liable—
a
on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years or to a fine or to both;
b
on summary conviction—
i
in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum or to both;
ii
in Scotland to imprisonment for a term not exceeding twelve months or to a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum or to both.

A person guilty of an offence under article 8 or 17 is liable—
a
on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or to a fine or to both;
b
on summary conviction—
i
in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum or to both;
ii
in Scotland to imprisonment for a term not exceeding twelve months or to a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum or to both.

A person guilty of an offence under article 18(3) or paragraph 7 of the Schedule is liable on summary conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale or both.
