This Order brings into force on 6th January 2009 section 21 of the UK Borders Act 2007 which concerns the issuing of a code of practice, designed to ensure that in exercising functions, the Border and Immigration Agency takes appropriate steps to ensure that while children are in the UK, they are safe from harm. On the same date, this Order also brings into force sections 51, 52 and 53 of the Act for all remaining purposes. These provisions concern the Chief Inspector of the Border and Immigration Agency.
