The Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (The County Council of Durham) (Durham District) Designation Order 2008

Coming into force

This Order is made in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraphs 8(1) of Schedule 8 and 3(1) of Schedule 10 to the Traffic Management Act 20041.

The County Council of Durham has applied to the Secretary of State for an order to be made under these powers in respect of part of its area.

The Secretary of State has consulted the Chief Constable of the Durham Constabulary in accordance with the requirements of paragraphs 8(3) of Schedule 8 and 3(4) of Schedule 10.

Accordingly, the Secretary of State for Transport2 makes this Order.

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (The County Council of Durham) (Durham District) Designation Order 2008 and shall come into force on 3rd November 2008.

Designation of civil enforcement area and special enforcement area2

The Secretary of State designates the area described in paragraph (2) as—

a

a civil enforcement area for parking contraventions; and

b

a special enforcement area.

This Order applies to the area of Durham District with the exception of—

a

the section of the A1M that lies within the area; and

b

the slip roads and circulatory carriageways at junctions 61 and 62 of that section.

This Order designates the area described in paragraph (2) of article 2 as a civil enforcement area and a special enforcement area for the purposes of Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
