The Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (County of East Sussex) (Borough of Eastbourne) Designation Order 2008

Coming into force

This Order is made in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 8(1) of Schedule 8 and paragraph 3(1) of Schedule 10 to the Traffic Management Act 20041.

East Sussex County Council has applied to the Secretary of State for an order to be made under these powers with respect to part of its area.

The Secretary of State has consulted the Chief Constable of the Sussex Police in accordance with the requirements of paragraphs 8(3) of Schedule 8 and 3(4) of Schedule 10.

Accordingly, the Secretary of State for Transport2 makes this Order.

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (County of East Sussex) (Borough of Eastbourne) Designation Order 2008 and shall come into force on 13th October 2008.

Designation of civil enforcement area and special enforcement area2

The Secretary of State designates the area described in paragraph (2) as—

a

a civil enforcement area for parking contraventions; and

b

a special enforcement area.

This Order applies to the area of the Borough of Eastbourne with the exception of all off-street parking places provided by Eastbourne Borough Council pursuant to section 32(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 19843.

This Order designates the area described in paragraph (2) of article 2 as a civil enforcement area and a special enforcement area for the purposes of Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
