1. These Regulations may be cited as the Concessionary Bus Travel (Permits) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 and shall come into force on 1st September 2008.
2.—(1) Regulation 2(11) of the Concessionary Bus Travel (Permits) (England) Regulations 2008(3) shall be amended as follows.
(2) For the words from “version 2.1.2” to the end there shall be substituted “version 2.1.3 (ISBN 978-0-9548042-3-7) published by ITSO Limited(4) on 21st April 2008 or any earlier version of such device which is compatible with that specified in ITSO version 2.1.3.”.

These Regulations amend the Concessionary Bus Travel (Permits) (England) Regulations 2008 to allow concessionary bus travel permits to incorporate electronic chips in the latest format issued by ITSO Limited. Passes may continue to incorporate older chips that are compatible with the latest format.

A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on local authorities, the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
