Citation and commencement1.
This Order may be cited as the Air Navigation (Amendment) Order 2008 and comes into force on 6th August 2008.

the competent authority of the United Kingdom for the purposes of Annex III of Council Regulation (EEC) No 3922/91 of 16th December 1991 on the harmonisation of technical requirements and administrative procedures in the field of civil aviation3.”.
The Civil Aviation Authority is the competent authority for the purposes of Annex III of Council Regulation (EEC) No 3922/91 (OJ No. L 373, 31.12.91, p.4. Annex III was inserted by Council Regulation (EC) No 8/08 of 11th December 2007, OJ No. L 10, 12.1.08, p.1).
Annex III contains operating rules for commercial air transport aeroplanes including provision for the issue or air operator’s certificates to commercial air transport operators.
An Impact Assessment has not been provided for this Instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
