(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend, with effect from 31st December 2007, the Private Hire Vehicles (London)(Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2004 so as to correct drafting errors which occurred at the time that the latter were made.
Regulation 6(1)(d) is amended so as to insert a corrected reference to paragraph (3) in place of an incorrect reference to paragraph (4). The effect of the corrected provision is that if a temporary permit ceases to have effect with respect to an existing private hire vehicle in the circumstances specified in paragraph (3), then it shall cease to have effect on the date specified or agreed as mentioned in paragraph (3).
Regulation 6(1)(e) is deleted as it was redundant, in that it erroneously related to a paragraph (5).
Regulation (6)(4) is amended so as to refer to the Private Hire Vehicles (London) Act 1998 as “the 1998” Act rather than the “1988” Act.
A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
