The District of Newark and Sherwood (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2007

Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2)
The Electoral Commission1, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 172 and 263 of the Local Government Act 1992, make the following Order:

Citation and commencement1.

(1)

This Order may be cited as the District of Newark and Sherwood (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2007.

(2)

This Order comes into force on the day after that on which it is made.

Amendment to the 2007 Order2.

(1)

The District of Newark and Sherwood (Electoral Changes) Order 20074 shall be amended as follows:

In article 2 the words “Revised (2007) Map referred to in the District of Newark and Sherwood (Electoral Changes) Order 2007” shall be substituted for the words “Map referred to in the District of Newark and Sherwood (Electoral Changes) Order 2007”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order substitutes a new map for that originally referred to in the District of Newark and Sherwood (Electoral Changes) Order 2007, in order to give full effect to recommendations by the Boundary Committee for England, a committee of the Electoral Commission, for electoral changes in the district of Newark and Sherwood.

Prints of the map may be inspected at all reasonable times at the offices of Newark and Sherwood District Council and at the principal office of the Electoral Commission at Trevelyan House, Great Peter Street, London SW1P 2HW or may be viewed on the Boundary Committee for England’s website at www.boundarycommittee.org.uk/your-area/newarkandsher.cfm.
