EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

Article 2 of this Order brings into force the following provisions of the Greater London Authority Act 2007—

  • section 15 (deemed component budget requirements for last old financial year);

  • section 16 (exercise of Mayor’s functions when temporarily unable to act) and a consequential repeal.

Article 3 of this Order appoints 30th October 2007 for the purposes of section 59(6) of the Act, which provides that sections 12 to 14 of the Act have effect in relation to financial years beginning on or after an appointed day.

Section 12 provides for separate component budgets for the Assembly and the Mayor. Section 13 concerns the procedure for determining the Authority’s consolidated budget requirement and section 14 relates to substitute calculations.
