Amendment of the Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) Order 1993

2.—(1) The Channel Tunnel (International Arrangements) Order 1993(1) is amended as follows.

(2) In article 2(4) (interpretation of supplementary articles)(2) after “the Government of the French Republic” insert “and amendments to those Articles made by the amending instrument”.

(3) In article 2 (interpretation) at the end insert—

(6) In paragraph (4) “the amending instrument” means the Agreement between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of the French Republic making amendments to the Additional Protocol to the Sangatte Protocol on the Establishment of Bureaux responsible for controls on persons travelling by train between the United Kingdom and France, and to the Agreement concerning the carrying of service weapons by French officers on the territory of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, signed in Paris on 18th June 2007..

(4) In article 3A (application of supplementary articles)(3) at the beginning of paragraphs (2) and (3) insert “Subject to paragraph (4),” and after paragraph (3) insert—

(4) Nothing in this article implies the existence of a supplementary control zone in the station of London-Waterloo on British Territory..

(5) In article 7 (enactments modified)(4) after paragraph (1) insert—

(1A) Nothing in paragraph (1)(b)(ii) implies the existence of a supplementary control zone in the station of London-Waterloo on British Territory..

(6) In Schedule 1 (expressions defined) in the definition of “supplementary control zone”(5) after “the State of arrival” insert “but excluding the station of London-Waterloo on British territory”.

(7) In Schedule 2A (supplementary articles)(6) after Article 2 insert—

Amendments to Article 2

In addition to the stations referred to in Article 2, control bureaux shall also be established at the station of Ebbsfleet International on British Territory.

The provisions of the Additional Protocol apply to the station of Ebbsfleet International under the same conditions and in accordance with the same procedures as they apply to the stations referred to in the said Article 2.(7)
