PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

These Regulations implement in part Council Directive 2005/36/EC (“the Directive”) on the recognition of professional qualifications and come into force on 19th October 2007. The Directive replaces the previous Council Directives 89/48/EEC, 92/51/EC and 99/42/EC on the mutual recognition of professional qualifications, as well as the Directives laying down minimum standards of training in specific professions, namely the professions of doctor, nurse, dental practitioner, veterinary surgeon, midwife, pharmacist and architect (“the sectoral professions”).
