The Secretary of State has consulted with representative organisations in accordance with section 134(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(1).
He makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 16(2) and (2A) and 124(1) of that Act, and paragraphs 21, 22 and 25 of Schedule 9 to that Act(2), as those provisions are applied by section 22BB(3) of that Act:
Subsections (2) and (2A) of section 16 were substituted by section 1(2) of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 (c.26), and paragraphs 21 and 25 of Schedule 9 were amended by section 168(1) of and Schedule 8 to the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (c.22). By virtue of section 22BB(3) of the 1984 Act, as inserted by section 72 of the National Environment and Rural Communities Act 2006 (c.16), provisions of the 1984 Act have effect in relation to an order by a National Park authority under subsection (2)(a), (b) or (c) of 22BB as they have effect in relation to an order by a local traffic authority under section 1, 9 or 14(1).
