<Text>These Regulations may be cited as The Gambling Act 2005 (Repeal) (Remote Operating Licence and Credit) Regulations 2007, and come into force on 1st September 2007.</Text>

<Title>Repeal of certain provisions of the 2005 Act</Title>

<P><Text>These Regulations ensure that the <Acronym Expansion="United Kingdom">UK</Acronym>’s obligations to notify technical standards in draft to the European Commission, under the Technical Standards Directive (Directive <Citation URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/european/directive/1998/0034" id="c00001" Class="EuropeanUnionDirective" Year="1998" Number="34">98/34/<Acronym Expansion="European Community">EC</Acronym></Citation>, as amended by Directive <Citation URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/european/directive/1998/0048" id="c00002" Class="EuropeanUnionDirective" Year="1998" Number="48">98/48/EC</Citation>), can be complied with. Equivalent measures to those contained in the repealed provisions will be achieved by alternative means, and notified to the European Commission as appropriate.</Text></P>
<P><Text>No Regulatory Impact Assessment has been prepared as these Regulations are a technical instrument.</Text></P>
