This Order is made in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 5(2) and (3) of the Crime and Disorder Act 19981:

Citation, commencement, extent and interpretation1

This order may be cited as the Crime and Disorder Strategies (Prescribed Descriptions) (England) (Amendment) Order 2007 and shall come into force on 31st July 2007.

This Order shall apply to England only.

In this Order “the 2004 Order” means the Crime and Disorder Strategies (Prescribed Descriptions) (England) Order 20042

Amendments to the 2004 Order

At the end of article 2(2)(d) of the 2004 Order delete “and”.

At the end of article 2(2)(e) of the 2004 Order substitute “; and” for the full stop.

Following article 2(2)(e) insert—

a social landlord, registered under Part 1 of the Housing Act 19963, which is a landlord of accommodation in that local government area.

For article 3(2)(a) of the 2004 Order substitute—

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

Article 2 of this Order prescribes that registered social landlords are required to co-operate with responsible authorities (defined in section 5(1) of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998) in the formulation and implementation of strategies for the reduction of crime and disorder and drug misuse within local government areas (defined in section 5(4) of that Act) in England. Article 3 prescribes the Environment Agency in place of registered social landlords in the descriptions of persons and bodies, at least one of each of which must be invited to participate in that exercise.
