EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order dissolves with effect from 1st August 2007 the further education corporation established to conduct the Pershore Group of Colleges (“Pershore”). It provides for the transfer of its property, rights and liabilities to Warwickshire College, Royal Leamington Spa, Rugby and Moreton Morrell and Herefordshire College of Technology.

The property, rights and liabilities which these bodies will receive are set out in the Schedule. Part 1 lists those to be transferred to Warwickshire College and Part 2 lists those to be transferred to Herefordshire College of Technology.

This Order also provides for the protection of the rights of those employees of Pershore who immediately before 1st August 2007 are employed by Pershore to work at Pershore and who are named or described in a separate Order to be made by the Secretary of State. It does so by applying section 26(2) to (5) of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 and a modified section 26(1) of that Act.
