The Lord Chief Justice of England, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 49 of the Courts-Martial (Appeals) Act 1968(1), and with the approval of the Lord Chancellor, hereby makes the following Rules:
1. These Rules may be cited as the Courts-Martial Appeal (Amendment No.2) Rules 2007 and shall come into force on 28th May 2007
2.—(1) The Courts-Martial Appeal Rules 1968(2) shall be amended as follows.
(2) For the definition of legal adviser in paragraph (3)(c) of rule 8C there is substituted—
“(c)is a member of the Bar of Northern Ireland or a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Northern Ireland; or”

These Rules amend the definition of “legal adviser” in the Courts-Martial Appeal Rules 1968 (S.I. 1968/1071) so as to make reference to a member of the Bar of Northern Ireland or a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Northern Ireland.
