The Housing Act 2004 (Commencement No. 7) (England) Order 2007

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 270(4) and (5)(a), (c), (d) and (f) of the Housing Act 20041, makes the following Order:

Citation and application1

This Order may be cited as the Housing Act 2004 (Commencement No. 7) (England) Order 2007.

This Order applies in relation to England only.

Commencement2

The following provisions of the Housing Act 2004 shall come into force on 6th April 2007—

a

in so far as they are not already in force2, sections 53, 212 to 215 and Schedule10;

b

section 266 in so far as it relates to the repeals in—

i

the London Building Acts (Amendment) Act 19393;

ii

the County of Merseyside Act 19804;

iii

the Building Act 19845; and

iv

the Leicestershire Act 19856.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force in England on 6th April 2007 sections 212 to 215 of, and Schedule 10 to, the Housing Act 2004, which relate to tenancy deposit schemes.

This Order also brings into force in England on 6th April 2007 section 53 of that Act, which makes miscellaneous repeals in relation to fire hazards, and section 266, in so far as it relates to those repeals.
