1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Service (Local Pharmaceutical Services etc.) Regulations 2006 and shall come into force on 1st April 2006.
(2) These Regulations apply in relation to England only(1).

As regards Wales, the relevant functions of the Secretary of State under the Act were transferred to the National Assembly for Wales under S.I. 1999/672, read with section 68(1) of the 2001 Act.
