Coming into force

The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by section 38(7) of, and paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to, the National Health Service Reform and Health Care Professions Act 20021.

Citation, commencement and interpretation1

These Regulations may be cited as the Commission for Patient and Public Involvement in Health (Membership and Procedure) (Amendment) Regulations 2006 and shall come into force on 1st April 2006.

These Regulations apply in relation to England.

In these Regulations, “the principal Regulations” means the Commission for Patient and Public Involvement in Health (Membership and Procedure) Regulations 20022.

Amendment of Part 1 of Schedule 2 to the principal Regulations2

In paragraph 1(4) of Part 1 of Schedule 2 (access to meetings and documents) to the principal Regulations, “Subject to paragraph 5,” is deleted.

Paragraph 1(5) of Part 1 of Schedule 2 (access to meetings and documents) to the principal Regulations is deleted.

These Regulations amend the Commission for Patient and Public Involvement in Health (Membership and Procedure) Regulations 2002 to remove the modification of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 in its application to the Commission for Patient and Public Involvement in Health (“the Commission”) so that Schedule 12A will apply to the Commission in unmodified form.
