The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 31(3) of the Northern Ireland (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2006 (1), makes the following Order:
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Northern Ireland (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2006 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2006.
(2) In this Order “the Act” means the Northern Ireland (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2006.
2.—(1) The provisions of the Act specified in paragraph (2) shall come into force on 16th October 2006.
(2) The provisions referred to in paragraph (1) are—
(a)section 7 (data collection);
(b)section 8 (tenure);
(c)section 9 (annual reports);
(d)section 30(1) (minor and consequential amendments etc.) in so far as it relates to the provision referred to in sub-paragraph (e); and
(e)paragraph 9 of Schedule 4 (minor and consequential amendments).
3.—(1) The provisions of the Act specified in paragraph (2) shall come into force on 1st December 2006.
(2) The provisions referred to in paragraph (1) are—
(a)sections 2 to 5 (periodical canvass etc.);
(b)section 30(1) (minor and consequential amendments etc.) in so far as it relates to the provisions referred to in sub-paragraph (c); and
(c)paragraphs 7(1), (2)(a) and 8 of Schedule 4 ( minor and consequential amendments).
