The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in pursuance of paragraph (c) of Schedule 2 to the Charities Act 19931, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

This Order may be cited as the Exempt Charities Order 2006 and shall come into force on 8th June 2006.

The University of Winchester is hereby declared to be an exempt charity for the purposes of the Charities Act 1993.

This Order declares the University of Winchester to be an exempt charity within the meaning of the Charities Act 1993 with effect from 8th June 2006. An exempt charity is not required to be registered with the Charity Commissioners and the Commissioners cannot exercise any powers under the Act in relation to an exempt charity except at the charity’s request.
