Commencement2

1

The following provisions of the 2004 Act shall come into force on the first commencement date—

a

in so far as they are not already in force3, sections 1, 3 to 8, 10 to 52, 54, 55, 58 to 71, 75 to 78, 82 to 94, 98 to 133, 135 to 147, 232, 235, 236, 238 to 243 and Schedules 1 to 7;

b

in section 72, subsections (2), (3), (5), (6) and (7);

c

in section 95, subsections (2), (4) and (6);

d

section 265(1) in so far as it relates to paragraphs 2 to 6, 8 to 36 and 38 to 44 of Schedule 15 (minor and consequential amendments);

e

section 266 in so far as it relates to the repeals in—

i

the Friendly and Industrial and Provident Societies Act 19684;

ii

the Land Compensation Act 19735;

iii

the Civil Aviation Act 19826;

iv

the Mobile Homes Act 19837;

v

the 1985 Act;

vi

the Housing Associations Act 19858;

vii

the Housing (Consequential Provisions) Act 19859;

viii

the Airports Act 198610;

ix

the Housing Act 198811;

x

the Electricity Act 198912;

xi

the Local Government and Housing Act 198913;

xii

the Housing Act 199614;

xiii

the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 199615; and

xiv

the Transport Act 200016.

The following provisions of the 2004 Act shall come into force on the second commencement date—

a

sections 73 and 96; and

b

in so far as they are not already in force, sections 72, 74, 95, 97 and 134.
