The Civil Contingencies Act 2004 (Commencement No.2) Order 2005

This Order may be cited as the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 (Commencement No.2) Order 2005.
Provisions coming into force on 1st April 20052.
The following provisions of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 (“the Act”) come into force on 1st April 2005 –
(a)
(b)
paragraph 10 of Schedule 2 (change of name of metropolitan county fire and civil defence authorities);
(c)
Schedule 3, but only in so far as it repeals sections 3, 3A and 3B of the Civil Defence Act 1948 in so far as those provisions relate to, or to anything done in, a financial year beginning on or after 1st April 2005;
(d)
section 32, but only to the extent that it introduces a provision of the Act specified in paragraph (a), (b) or (c).
This Order brings into force the provisions of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 (“the Act”) which repeal sections 3, 3A and 3B of the Civil Defence Act 1948 (provisions relating to the civil defence grant) in so far as those provisions relate to a financial year beginning on or after 1st April 2005. The repeal is commenced on 1st April 2005. This Order also brings into force the provision of the Act which alters the name by which metropolitan county fire and civil defence authorities are to be known by. This provision comes into force on 1st April 2005.
A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on the costs of business.
