The Firearms (Amendment) Rules 2005

The Secretary of State makes the following Rules in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 28(2) and 53 of the Firearms Act 1968(1):

Citation and commencement

1.  These Rules may be cited as the Firearms (Amendment) Rules 2005 and shall come into force on 1st January 2006.

Amendment to the Firearms Rules 1998

2.—(1) Part 2 of Schedule 2 to the Firearms Rules 1998(2) is amended as follows.

(2) In Condition 2 of the Shot Gun Certificate for the words “without undue delay” substitute “within 7 days”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

These Rules amend an error in condition 2 of the Shot Gun Certificate which is prescribed in Part 2 of Schedule 2 to the Firearms Rules 1968.

1968 c. 27, as extended by section 2(1) of the Firearms Act 1982 (c. 31). There are amendments to section 28 which are not relevant to the subject matter of these Rules.
